Beach Information
For your safety DO NOT swim at any unguarded beaches! Lifeguards are now on duty daily until Labor Day Weekend.
Barnegat Light
Lifeguards: Lifeguards are on duty seven days a week from mid-June through Labor Day from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm. For your safety, always swim in the designated areas which are marked with flags.
Beach Wheels: Barnegat Light is pleased to offer a Beach wheelchair to any beach patron who has a mobility-limiting disability. The chair has wide balloon wheels, allowing it to be pushed easily on the sand. The chairs are offered on a first-come first-served basis and reservations are required. We will deliver & pick up the chairs. There is no charge for the use of the chairs as this program is funded by donations.
Beach Tram: For beach patrons between 4th St. & 9th St. the Borough offers a Beach Tram service. The tram picks up beachgoers on each street end, on the beach, and takes them to the lifeguarded area between 9th St. & 10th St. It operates the same hours as the lifeguards, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, it does not operate from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. The last pick-up to leave the beach is around 5:00 pm. The tram is free, however, all passengers (over 11 years old) must have a current beach badge. Tram map
Dogs on the beach: Dogs are ONLY permitted on the beach from
October 1st to April 16th and MUST be leahsed.
Beach Haven
Badge office: Badges may be picked up at the Centre St. badge office
Badges are required every day, except Wednesdays.
Passes: available for purchase starting the first day that badge checkers are working on the beach (changes yearly), payment via cash only, at the badge office (cash, check, or credit card/fees apply)
Digital Passes: via the My Beach Mobile App Apple Android
Veteran Lifetime Recreation: FREE, available only at the beach badge office, during their hours of operation, with proper ID.
Active Military and their immediate family Weekly Wristbands – FREE, available only at the beach badge office, during their hours of operation, with proper ID
Long Beach Township
Beach Badges: Seasonal beach badges can be purchased either at the Long Beach Township Beach Badge Sales Office in Brant Beach or on our mobile app MyBeachMobile (physical badges will still have to be picked up at Beach Badge Sales Office) Daily & Weekly badges can be purchased at either the LBT Beach Badge Office, on 68th Street in Brant Beach, from our mobile app or on the beach from one of our Beach Badge Checkers (in-season June 15th – September 2nd).
Beach Wheels (Surf Chair): Available for anyone staying at Long Beach Township address. However, for people staying at hotels special security arrangements have to be be made in advance. To reserve a SurfChair call 609.361.1200. Long Beach Township has a program called the “Gator” service to assist physically challenged individuals from the street-side beach entrance, bringing them over the dunes to the beach. To schedule a pick- up please contact the Transportation Department at 609.342.2111.

Harvey Cedars
Beach Badges: Digital beach badges can be purchased through the My Beach Mobile App! All badges may be purchased at the beach badge booth in Sunset Park starting June 15th. Daily & weekly badges may be purchased from the Badge Checker on the beach. Only cash or checks are accepted.
Active Military: Free daily beach admission shall be provided to active members of the United States Armed Services and their dependents upon the presentation of a valid military status identification card to any badge-checker or Borough personnel.
Veterans: Free daily beach admission shall be provided to any person who has served in any of the Armed Forces of the United States and upon presentation of acceptable proof of honorable discharge to any badge-checker or Borough personnel.
Beach Wheels: Available on a weekly basis by reservation to anyone staying at a Harvey Cedars address. Beach badges are required. Handicap access ramps to ocean beaches east 80th St., also East Mercer Av. Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV) is an alternate program for physically challenged individuals who are unable to use a beach wheel chair. Anyone staying at a Harvey Cedars address is eligible to reserve transportation at no charge. Beach badges are required.

Ship Bottom
Beach Badges: My Beach Mobile App, Beach badge Checker or in person at Borough Hall.
Veterans, Active Duty and Immediate Family: Free, Please show your Veterans ID to a beach badge checker.
Beach Wheels: For handicapped access to the beach are available for patrons of Ship Bottom beaches that are staying at a Ship Bottom address. Please call to reserve in advance 609.494.2171 or 609. 494.9481. Beach Badges are required.
Handicapped ramps:
4th, 8th, 9th, 14th, 15th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 25th Streets.
Public Restrooms:
- 6th St @ Tennis courts
- 10th St @ Waterfront Park
- 13th St. @Bay beach
- 17th St @ Ship Bottom Borough Hall
Surf City
Beach badges: Required to be worn by anyone ages 12 to 64 while on the beach in bathing suit. Children under the age of 11 and seniors over the age of 65 are not required to wear a beach badge. For the 2020 Season, Active Duty Military & their immediate families may access the Beach at no cost with a wrist band obtained from a badge checker.
Guarded beaches:
South 2nd St., Division, North 2nd., 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th, 12th, 14th, 16th, 18, 20th, 22nd, 24th Streets.
Public restrooms: Available at the following locations, changing rooms and showers are not provided:
- Behind Borough Hall at 813 Long Beach Boulevard.
- The 16th Street Bay Beach.
- The Division Street Boat Ramp.
